I’m grateful to serve as your voice in the Minnesota House. By bringing all voices to the table, we can build a progressive, inclusive vision that makes our state and community work better for everyone. Together, we’ve been able to advance some significant initiatives to strengthen education opportunities, make health care more affordable and accessible, protect workers, reform criminal justice, strengthen economic security and more.
Still, a great deal of work remains to ensure all Minnesotans can have a bright future. Our state has many persistent, wide racial disparities that impact many members of our community. To do this, we need to overcome Donald Trump and his Republican allies who – instead of giving us a hopeful future where we can all succeed – are working day and night to advance an agenda based on hate and division. We all deserve better than this.

“To be in this place now where they have a black female vice president, I mean, I’m getting chills just saying that,” Minnesota State Representative and Chair of the United Black Legislative Caucus, Rena Moran said.
Representative Moran calls Harris’ win a victory for women everywhere, especially young women of color.
“For all of the black little girls running around to believe that they can really make a difference, it just means the world. I mean I am truly, truly excited,” Rep. Moran said.

Moran says she “truly believes in the power of people — being connected to neighbors, having conversation block-by-block, town-by-town, barn-by-barn.” Being civically engaged, she says, is one of the values of Minnesota.
